Tikva’s young men enjoyed a thrilling summer programme at the Overstrand Hall in Cromer, Norfolk. Led once again by indefatigable Camp Manager Mark Grosskopf and his dedicated team of staff and volunteers, it was a summer to remember!
The program was planned around the needs and interests of the participants, and included daily trips to farms, theme parks, beaches and a trampoline park. Activities included daily singing and dancing, water play, Lego therapy, an educational session and de-stressing activities all geared to the particular needs and abilities of each participant. A highlight included a lively mock wedding, with live music and singing by famous stars.
When the users exited the coaches with huge smiles on their faces, saying emotional goodbyes to their counsellors with hugs and tears, Tikva knew that once again this year’s summer camp for adults with learning disabilities had fulfilled its purpose beyond all expectations.
